I have been programming since 1969,
been an almost daily internet user since 1984 and have been building
and running database-driven websites since early 1995.
My original degree was in Computer And Communications Engineering
and since then I have programmed at every level from soldering
iron to expert systems. In the 1970's I was microcoding bit-slice
processors for embedded systems, designing high-speed systems and
producing disk operating systems.
From here I moved to software engineering covering tools, visualisation
systems, database, knowledge-based and expert systems, graphics and
compilers. System management and web development followed working
with large national and international clients whilst Programme Manager
at Domino Systems Ltd. I have managed small and large projects including
national (under Alvey) and international (under ESPRIT) activities
and have been an invited lecturer with Intel, IBM, the University
of Leeds, UNICOM, Fortran Futures and SERC with published papers
on Software Tools technology.
Here's a partial list of clients I have worked with directly or
whilst Programme Manager at Domino Systems:-
